One Fair Day. Two Big Events.

This year, the Graceville State School Fair will run a little differently, with the day split into two exciting parts.

Fair Marketplace

9am – 12pm

Start the day at our Fair Marketplace in the hall precinct, where families can browse, shop and enjoy our much-loved community stalls. This is the perfect time to explore books, clothes, toys, cakes, sweets whilst enjoying a cuppa!

Fair Festival

12pm – 7pm

From midday, the fun moves to the other side of the school on the oval for the Fair Festival.
This is where you’ll find the food, rides, entertainment, activities and all the big afternoon excitement, finishing with fireworks.

Come for the morning or the afternoon - or join us for the whole day!

Every Dollar Saves Lives:

Supporting Graceville School Pool

All net profits from the 2026 Fair are dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of the Graceville State School pool facilities. This ensures our pool remains safe, functional, and accessible for students now and in the future.

Real-World Impact

Teachers estimate 48% of Year 6 students cannot swim 50 meters and tread water for two minutes.

Declining Water Safety

Many students are leaving primary school without essential swimming and water safety skills, impacting school programs and carnivals.

Concerning Statistics

Royal Life Saving reports that over 40% of children leave primary school without achieving national swimming benchmarks.

Australia recorded 357 drowning deaths in the most recent national reporting year - the highest death toll since records began in 1996. This marks a 27% increase compared to the 10-year average.

By supporting the 2026 GSS Fair, you are helping fund a project that goes beyond buildings and pool equipment. You are helping protect school swimming. You are helping keep children in the water, learning skills that could one day save their life or the life of someone else.

Austin Appelbee's 2025 rescue story powerfully illustrates why these swimming and rescue skills matter!

If you cannot find the answer to your question in these FAQ's please enquire below

Follow us on social media #GSSfair2026 for updates and surprises and check the News section for updates.

When and where is the Graceville State School Fair 2026?

The Graceville State School Fair will be held on Saturday the 1st August, 2026 from 11am at the Graceville State School grounds, located at 23 Acacia Avenue, Graceville. The event will run rain or shine!

How much does it cost to attend the fair?

Entry to the fair is free for everyone! However, rides, food, and activities will require tickets or cash purchases. Pre-purchase wristbands are available at a discount for unlimited rides.

Where can I purchase ride wristbands?

Ride wristbands can be purchased at the fair at the Ride Stall.

Is there parking available at the fair?

Street parking is available in the surrounding areas and we encourage Active Travel by walking, cycling, or using public transport where possible. Please be considerate of our neighbours when parking! There will be designated drop off areas.

What payment methods are accepted at the fair?

Most stalls and activities will accept both cash and card payments. Cash sales will begin to close at 4:00pm on most stalls so our funds team can enjoy the fireworks with their children.

What happens if it rains on the day of the fair?

The fair will proceed rain or shine! Many activities will be moved under cover in case of inclement weather, though some outdoor rides may be affected. Check our social media for any weather-related updates.

How can I volunteer to help at the fair?

We always welcome volunteers! Please visit the "Get Involved" section of our website and sign up for a time slot. Volunteers receive endless gratitude!

When will the Mega Raffle and Hamper winners be announced?

All Raffle and Hamper winners will be announced at 6:15 PM on the day of the fair at the Party Stage. You don't need to be present to win, but it's more fun if you are!

Fireworks

The night sky will come alive with our dazzling fireworks display at 6.30pm, straight after the Disco.

Where should I sit to get the best view?

For the best view, we recommend sitting as far back on the Acacia Avenue side of the oval, right in front of the rides. The fireworks will be sent up into the air from the pool behind Q block. From this prime location, you'll enjoy the full spectacular as colours burst over the buildings.

Don't miss this magical finale to your perfect Fair day!

Keeping Kids Safe at the Fair

Your child's safety is our top priority. We will have First Aid and Police on site all day at the Fair. But here are some tips to help you and your stay safe on the day:

Write Your Contact Details

Write your mobile number on the child's wrist or arm, or on their ride wristband.
(A marker works great!)

Meeting Points

If you have older kids, choose a meeting spot so that they know where to find a family member.

Safety Team

Volunteers in bright highly visible vests will be visible around the grounds. Speak to any of these friendly volunteers if you have an issue.

Pictures Help

Take a quick picture of what your child is wearing in the morning.

And of course stay together and have fun!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Bring Your Own Keep Cup

Help us reduce waste by bringing your reusable coffee cup to the fair

Refillable Water Bottles

Plenty of water taps available throughout the grounds. Stay hydrated sustainably!

BYO Shopping Bag

Carry your fair treasures home in your own reusable shopping bag

Bring Your Cutlery

Pack your own knife, fork, and spoon to enjoy delicious fair food

Look for our recycling stations and Containers for Change bins around the fair grounds. Together, we can make this our most eco-friendly fair yet!

All leftover products will be donated to LIFELINE. Helping those in need!
